Abuse and trauma is a horrid thing to go through. They cause many pain and suffering. What if that wasn’t the only thing though? There have been talks of how abuse and trauma are both the causation factor of Gastrointestinal (GI) illnesses. The current study, “Abuse, Trauma, and GI Illness: Is There a Link?” which was done by Douglas A. Drossman looks to uncover whether abuse and trauma lead to GI illnesses and helps to offer guidelines as when to receive proper care. Abuse and trauma need to be discussed and researched more to uncover the mystery of whether GI is a result and what are some of the proper ways of dealing with the issue which the study discussed explains. I never would have guessed that abuse and trauma in early life may lead to GI diseases. This research as well explains that support and empathy relieves the patients inner thought and memories which in return can be therapeutic. If you can just open up about your past and trust others than in return you get relief and feel like everything is ok. So many people suffer from GI illness and it may be caused by abuse as a child. I have known people who had the disease and if I had known that abuse and trauma leads to the illness, then I would have asked somehow if that person suffered from abuse when he or she was young and for them to go to an expert and ask if it had anything to do with abuse or trauma. I wouldn’t be surprised if half the world suffers from abuse because it is very common. The rest of the world needs to know the future factors of abuse and be educated about it. If abuse and trauma reduces around the world, then this illness and disease will dramatically fall and the world would be much better. Spreading this message to word will educate
