Essay On Yosemite National Park

My family and I went to Yosemite National Park. Yosemite is one of the greatest parks in the country with many beautiful sightings. It was established, to protect the land on October 1, 1890. Yosemite sits in the gorgeous state of California. We loved going to Yosemite National Park to enjoy our lives. According to the establisher of this park, John Muir, “It is by far the grandest of all the special temples of nature I was permitted to.” I asked the park ranger how many acres of land is Yosemite made of. He said 748,036 acres. Yosemite is definitely a national treasure. There is soaring cliffs, huge waterfalls, and vast meadows inside the territory of Yosemite. There are many activities you can do. President Theodore Roosevelt said, “There can be nothing in the world more beautiful than the Yosemite, the groves of the giant sequoias and redwoods...and our people should see to it that they are preserved for their children and their children’s children forever, with their majestic beauty all unmarred.” Yosemite is filled with multiple natural creatures and plants. There is a variety of mammals.
There are also many reptiles in Yosemite. Some reptiles that live there are Coast Horned lizard, Sierra garter snake, Pacific pond turtle, Northern rubber boa, Sagebrush lizard, and many more. If I would have seen one, I would have freaked out. A fun fact I learned about Yosemite National Park is insects make up most of it’s population. Yosemite has plants and trees also. There is the giant sequoias that are at least 3,000 years old, Tuolumne Groves, California black oak, and redwood.
