Essay Task 2B: Solution Recommendation
LYT2 Task 2B – Solution Recommendation

In order for NHS to satisfy its requirement to transmit large medical imaging files in a timely and secure manner, they must be able to subscribe to circuits of the appropriate bandwidth at each remote office to address the local needs. Unfortunately, the remoteness of some of these locations have resulted in the limitation of network connectivity options. Therefore, the cost-effective alternative to expensive, high-bandwidth internet circuits is to use a WAN optimization solution. A WAN optimization solution consists of a network appliance at each location that focuses on increasing network performance. It accomplishes this through the use of a combination of data compression, content and object-caching, data deduplication and protocol optimization. A WAN optimization appliance works in conjunction with the available bandwidth at a location. The host site would have an appliance that would build ‘acceleration tunnels’ to each of the appliances located at the remote sites. The appliances at the remote sites would be sized based upon the number of users and the available bandwidth at that location.

It is a very cost-effective approach. Higher bandwidth circuits in remote areas tend to be expensive. The purchase of network appliances are normally a capital expenditure that can be amortized over the life of the product. This timeframe is normally 3 to 5 years. On the other hand, the addition of larger circuits is an operational expenditure that incurs a higher recurring cost on a monthly basis. Secondly, these appliances are transparent to the end user. They do not require additional software on the users’ computers, or require any special setup on a per-user

Kudler Fine Foods has established that they want to design a WAN to tie three different locations together and make the internal network in each store a Wireless Local Area Network. Then, they are requesting Voice Over Internet Protocol to each multi store network. Various protocols make all this happen. Transfer Control Protocol and Internet Protocol are the foundation of data transfer. TCP is the protocol that the internet, email and ftp highly rely on. Without TCP/IP there would be no internet, email or FTP. Two other protocols designed to process packets throughout the network are X.25 and Frame Relay. For this scenario Frame Relay will be used so I will not provide a brief description about X.25. Frame relay was based on the X.25 protocol and even though the option isn’t there to check an error, which is the end stations responsibility. Frame relay does reduce the amount of overhead associated with data transmission, which allows for a faster packet switching method. As recommended this network will use a T1 line to reach the required bandwidth from node to node. This will give the customer the option to data burst the line. However, if the network traffic is heavily congested it will be controlled so everyone is satisfied. Frame relay uses a specific fast packet switching technology that allows overhead reduction. Flow control and error correction determines the efficiency of the fast packet switch. Now what happens is the frame relay inside the network will detect the error and simply just drop the frame. The OSI model divides network communication into seven layers. Each layer describes the various protocols and function. Using Frame Relay you now get to exclude any layer 3 protocol because the operation is performed on the second OSI layer (data-link).When the company adapts a fully connected topology will be used. As for right now, the setup will resemble a Ring Topology.…

Riordan Manufacturing is in need of a new network, this plan will develop a network that will benefit the business, the employees and the customers in a manner that will provide all of them with a smooth operating experience as well as to future proof the entire network. The Network will handle all incoming and outgoing traffic for both the employees on the intranet, as well as the customers on the external internet web site. Quality of Service (QoS) will be implemented to assist in data tracking for use of the bandwidth to determine and plan how much bandwidth is needed and to determine where congestion issues are as they arise. The plan is to implement all of the locations into one wide area network (WAN). The locations are in San Jose, California; Albany, Georgia; Pontiac, Missouri and Hangzhou, China. All of these locations will be backed up and implemented to run together as one unit while maintaining the flexibility of the local area networks (LAN’s) that they are. All access will use VPN’s for the added security layer using the client CITRIX. Security measures will also be implemented to ensure that the network is secure for the business, its employees and of course, the customers. This plan will outline and identify the information team, from the Chief Information Officer (CIO), to the programmer analyst to show the order of the IT team and the roles they are currently in.…

Tacos have been a long time favorite food of mine and preparing one is an art. Learning how to make a delicious, mouthwatering taco came from my mother. One night each week was taco night when I was growing up. The first and most important step in the taco making process is getting fresh ingredients. You will need soft taco shells, lean ground sirloin, roma tomatoes, shredded lettuce, Mexican Blend shredded cheese, taco sauce (with desired hotness of course), taco seasoning packet, onions (optional), and sour cream. Make sure you select firm roma tomatoes and fresh shredded lettuce. The next step you will need to sauté your lean ground sirloin in a skillet until you can hear the sizzle and all the pink is gone. Then you will need to add the taco seasoning and allow it to simmer for about ten to fifteen minutes. While that is simmering, you will need to dice your firm, red roma tomatoes and your onions into very small pieces so that they will pack into the warm taco shell easily. When your taco meat is finished simmering, turn the heat off and let it to sit for a couple of minutes. You will now need to place your soft taco shells into the microwave and heat for twenty seconds. This will let you mold the taco much easier as the shell will stretch. Now you are ready to assemble your taco. You will need to place the taco shell on a glass plate; it sticks to a plastic plate. First you can place a strip of meat on the shell, spread the shredded lettuce on top of that, then sprinkle the chopped, ripe tomatoes on, and any desired onions. You will then sprinkle the Mexican Blend cheese on that, and any desired taco sauce and sour cream. Lastly, you will need to gently roll the taco shell half way, then fold in each end, and roll the remainder of the way. Now your taco is ready to eat and enjoy! Be prepared with a bib and fork because you won’t want to miss a bite of this juicy and spicy taco!…
