Honesty is one of the prized possessions of mankind. An honest man is always honoured and respected in the society. It is a quality which brings about the development of other qualities. But I am of the view that honesty is not always the best policy.
Once, I was to traveling to school along with a friend. We go by private bus and my friend that day decided to ride the bus without a ticket. I tried to persuade him not to be dishonest, but he said that he did not care about honesty.
When the bus came, I saw that it was very crowded. I thought that if my friend really wanted to do what he said, then the bus would suit him very much. We boarded the bus. As the bus was very crowded, the conductor did not come inside the bus to ask for tickets. I decided that I would buy my ticket when I would get down.
When the bus came near my school, I searched my pockets for my purse I could not find it in any pocket. I was horrified to discover that I had been picked by a pick-pocket. I decided that I would tell the conductor the whole story and felt sure that he would understand. I reached the gate and told him my story. He just grinned at me and told me that he had heard that story many times before and asked me to come up with something new. When I said that I was telling the truth, he became very angry and made me get down before the bus reached my school. I had to walk the rest of the way to school which took a long time. By the time I reached school, the gate had closed and I had to go back home.
When I met my friend my friend the next day, I asked him what he had done. He smiled at me casually and told me that when the conductor had asked for the ticket, he said that a man wearing a blue shirt was his father and he had bought two tickets. As the bus was very crowded, he could not remember the man and believed m friend’s story.
After this horrifying episode of my life, I was convinced that honesty is not always the best policy. An honest man is easily exploited by others

Honestly, is honesty for suckers? Sad to say but for the most part yes. People are just plain greedy; everyone from a single person to a million dollar company everyone wants the most money with the least amount of effort. This has led to a world of dishonest, lazy, cheap individuals, making those who put in effort look dumb for trying much harder for the same or worse results. Kids start off cheating their way through school and end up selling fake copies of the hangout at a car wash. As much as I don’t like this the fact is honesty has become the tool of those who wish to achieve less. People these days’ value low prices and don’t care who they hurt because of it.…

After several minutes of standing there alone waiting for my bus, I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. Naturally I pulled my phone out to look at whatever notification it could have been and to check the bus schedule. As I did this, I saw the outline of a man who appeared to almost walk past me before doing a quick turn to my front right side. Letting him take his position I made my second mistake. I quickly put away my phone into my pocket and the man began to speak. "Hey man I really need some help I have been sleeping here for a few weeks now and I really need the money to get on the train you think you could help me out with twenty bucks?" The man was dirty and made a big deal about how his shoes were all worn down but in reality they looked fine. "I would love to help but I don't carry cash on me sorry man" I said trying to dismiss the situation and get on with my day. I had other things to worry about like this test and whether or not I was going to pass. Or so I thought. The man tattoo on his face or possibly a bruise hell it could even have been dust slowly began to reach and grasp at his front pockets of his pants and then slid his hand into his hoodie and pointed something at me. "You don't…

I believe honesty is the best policy but if the truth will hurt some ones feeling I think sometimes lying in small circumstance would be a better choice. Now that we have defined what honesty and inherent behaviour entails, we can now look at the various theories that attempt to identify the motivation behind people behaving honestly. One of these theories is the fact that humans choose to act honestly or not based on what we feel is ‘morally good’ or the ‘right thing to do’ according to a very personal set of rules and morals. An individual’s behaviours are heavily influenced in order to satisfy this individual set of rules. Of course, there are a number of positions one can take on when defining this set of rules. Deontologists would argue that one should be honest one hundred percent of the time, regardless of the situation. They believe that it is ones’ moral obligation to behave honestly and have a duty of adhering to this universal rule. On the other hand, utilitarianism claims that the decision to act honestly or dishonestly varies depending on the…

Honesty Is The Best Policy The main message of his presentation was to teach the class the importance of Honesty. He pointed out that there are several different aspects of honesty.
