Essay Writing: My Hero's Journey

While we were leaving Independence, we tried to get into a section that moving, but there was so many wagons and people that we didn't know where to go. We were stuck there for at least 4 hours just sitting in our wagons waiting to find a chance to go. Finally after it all died down a little bit, we got into a line and started to move. We were traveling towards the Kansas river and we thought it would be easy to pass but since there were so many people, it took forever. We had to pay 1 dollar for every wagon that crossed so we ended up paying around 6 dollars to cross. This was one of the longest river crosses I think I will ever encounter. I have so much enthusiasm for the trail, and that might be why I'm not to tired. One old person that was with us was criticizing me and everyone else. I don't understand why he's doing this. His name is Douglas, and he is doesn't like the leader either, Mr. Swanson. He is always making the right calls on where to go, and Doug just doesn't like him or anyone else. He really is a downer, and I hope he will see that we are all a group together. At least he follows the rules and wakes up at 4 every morning and goes to bed when everyone else does. Our routine is waking up, getting the animals all rounded up, eating breakfast, and then starting our journey once again. When the day ends, we sing and dance with my guitar and entertain the kids. We were halfway through the day and the oxen were struggling to carry the things we had. I had to throw out a dresser and a chest from my parents. I didn't want to throw them out but what other choice did I have? I couldn't throw my guitar out because that's what I use to entertain everyone. I'm very sad that I have to throw the things out but I really can't do
