* Phillip Island is an Australian island located about 140 km to the south and south-east of Melbourne, Victoria. Phillip island got its name from Arthur Phillip, the very first governor of NSW, Phillip Island is a natural breakwater for the shallow waters of Western Port. * Philip Island is visited by an estimated 3.5 million tourist annually. There’s no service of public transport available on the Island, so a bike or car is the best way to go. * -------------------------------------------------
Phillip Island experiences milder weather than Melbourne and is tempered by the ocean breezes. The daily maximum temperature for February is around 24.7°C, while for July it is near 13.4°C. The penguin parade is here is a major international tourist attraction. after sunset little penguins the world’s smallest at 33 centimeters tall, come home to their burrows in th sand dunes after fishing all day in the sea , tours run each night for this show put on by the little penguins.
