Bloomberg Professional Service
The Bloomberg Professional Service software installation is now complete. In order for you to activate your license and connect to the Bloomberg network you will need to register a Bloomberg Serial Number
(SN) on this computer. If at any point during this process you need help, please contact Bloomberg
Support.
Preparation
If a valid Serial Number is already installed on this computer
If you simply re-ran the software installation on the top of a previous installation, without changing or removing registry keys, then no further action is necessary, unless you want to CHANGE the Serial
Number; in this case proceed to the section If a Serial Number was previously installed but now expired or invalid.
If a Serial Number was previously installed but now expired or invalid
If you installed the Bloomberg software on a computer that previously had Bloomberg at some point in the past, but is now no longer active, then you will receive a popup informing that the Serial Number is invalid.
In order to remove the previous SN you will need to have administrative access to the computer’s registry, to be able to remove the relevant keys. If you do not, you will need to contact your System Administrator.
If you do, proceed as follows:
Go to Start – Settings – Control Panel – Add/Remove Programs
•
Choose Bloomberg Professional Service
•
Choose Remove
•
Choose Next for Automatic
•
Click Finish
•
Restart the computer.
You have now removed all trace of the previous SN and its associations. You will need to re-run the installer (file name starting sotrt) to install the software again.
Once that is complete, you are in the position to install a new SN. Please proceed to the section If this is the first installation of Bloomberg on this computer.
