Estee Lauder Research Paper
The famous entrepreneur that I chose was Estee Lauder. She was born in Queens, New York in 1908 and in 2004. Estee started her own beauty company in the year 1946 she is known as a beautician and business executive. She came from a family of Jewish immigrants. Her uncle was the one who showed her how to make her own beauty creams. After graduating from high school she concentrated on her uncle’s business, she started to sell her own products at local hair salons as a teenager. The products that she sold she named them “jars of hope”. (lauder n.d.)
In the year 1930 she then married Joseph H. Lauter. Joseph in the year 1939 the couple divorced and remarried in 1942 than once they were together again they decided to make a business and work together,

Estee Lauder’s beauty and health skin products made a huge impact to women around the world. She was an exceptionally talented and successful promoter. Lauder later decided to venture into the male cosmetic market in 1964 using her sons to test the products. In 1965 she came out with Aramis and an entire line foe men’s skin which she relaunched in 1967. Another popular product was the fragrance-free Clinique line. Both of her sons Leonard and Ronald Lauder took over the company along with their wives Evelyn and Jo Carole. Leonard took over as president of Estee Lauder, Inc in 1973. In 1970 she was recognized by 575 business and financial editors as one of ten outstanding women in business. Three interesting facts about Estee is that in 1984 she and seven others were chosen as outstanding mother of the year, the second fact is that she was listed by Forbes as one of the four hundred richest Americans, and the third one is that she was the only woman on time magazines listed as the 20 most influential businesses of the 20th century. Till this day the product still exist. Estee Lauder died on April 24, 2004 at her home in Manhattan. She died at the age of 97. One of her quotes that I really liked was “I was a woman with a mission and single-minded in the pursuit of my dream” this quote simply explains the secret to her success.
