Ethanol is a clean-burning, high-octane fuel and is made from a renewable resource made from American corn and different cellulosic materials. Ethanol has many uses. It can be used as a biofuel (which reduces greenhouse effect) and it can be used for making different materials like perfumes and explosives. It is also called ethyl alcohol. Ethanol can be produced by banana peelings but we don’t know which peeling of different banana species can produce more ethanol. The peelings of latundan, lacatan and senorita bananas are different. Latundan banana peelings are thinner than lacatan peelings while the senorita banana peelings are the thinnest peelings among the three bananas. It is possible that the peelings of lacatan banana produce more ethanol than latundan and senorita because of its thicker skin.
This study is being conducted because the researcher wants to find out what type of banana peeling can produce more ethanol and because the researcher wants to produce ethanol from waste materials.
B. Statement of the Problem
At the end of this study, the researcher considers the following objectives: 1. To find out what type of banana peelings can produce the most and least ethanol. 2. To produce ethanol from waste materials that contains sugar C. Hypothesis
The researcher considers the following hypothesis: 1. The lacatan banana peelings produce the most ethanol because its peelings are thicker than latundan and senorita bananas. 2. The senorita banana peelings produce the least ethanol because is peelings are thinner than lacatan and latundan bananas. 3. Ethanol can be produced from waste materials that contains sugar. D. Significance of the Study
Since the study is about different banana peelings and how much ethanol they produce, it would help other people because it would inform them which type of banana
