An area that is vital for business growth is demonstrating social responsibilities towards individuals. The issues related to social responsibilities are ethical and moral issues. Both of those terms are consistently grouped together amongst business practices, especially with huge corporations. Ethics is defined as, “the principles, norms, and standards of conduct governing an individual or group” (Trevino & Nelson, 2007). Employers mandate policies to their workers and they are expected to follow them; those can include a dress code, punctuation, and customer service. There are various ethical issues in business such as human resources issues, conflicts of interest, customer confidence issues, and the usage of corporate resources. The issues in human resources can include discrimination, privacy, sexual harassment, and hiring and firing. A conflict of interest is an instance when your judgment or objectivity is compromised. Customer confidence issues include product safety and honesty in advertising. The last issue is the use of corporate resources which involves employers and employees being truthful and responsible in the use of corporate resources. Morals are the rules of human behavior that indicate certain actions are wrong or immoral and others are right or moral (DeGeorge, 2010). The act of stealing or murdering a person can be recognized as being immoral. Donating money to charity or volunteering
