Does your particular agency/ field (social work-NASW, psychology-APA, etc) have a Code of Ethics they abide by? Yes, every time when I have an issue, I always go back to the APA, the ACA, or even the code of my work place.
How would you define “Ethical Dilemma?” To me, ethical dilemma is any situation that you need to resolve. Sometimes, it can interfere with your moral thinking and with the law or the code at your work place. I thought to myself, “What is this young man doing?” At that time, I did not know what his intention was, so I asked him what those roses are for. I did not understand the meaning behind them. Of course, I had to ask him for the intention. As a counselor, I had the right to know the motivation behind this gift.
