With the substantial increase in the price of the drug, it changes the whole scenario because there is no other drug as effective as CDU Inc.’s B-52, which in turn goes against the guidelines of Review Board. Even though there have been hearings and warnings issued against CDU Inc. and Steve Brenda, Steve has been indifferent towards and/or all summoning.
One can argue that Steve Brenda’s actions are unethical. By fostering a culture of “maximum profit at minimum cost” and ignoring everyone by adopting a bottom line of “damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead”, Brenda’s actions have led his company into a situation where they are breaching the contract. The bigger picture in this scenario is that Brenda is fully aware that his company’s B-52 drug is the most effective drug on the market to aid HIV/AIDS patients; using this knowledge, he exploits the patients in discomfort by asking them to pay for the drug at an increase of 8000%.
