The ethical lens that describes me is the Relationship lens, due to my tendency to use reasoning and trying to maintain fairness and respect for everyone that I deal with on a daily basis from classmates, to family or friends. I have a tendency to be overconfident in the ethical process; all individuals should be allowed the same rights and responsibilities when it comes to the ethical process. No one should be allowed to be able to manipulate the situation to better the outcome for them or anyone involved. I believe as big strength of mine is the ability to maintain calmness and a clear mind when it comes to people affecting me or my family in a negative way, and in turn it allows me to make a rational and ethical decision to hopefully better the outcome of the circumstances. As for a weakness I tend to be too trusting and allow for people to take advantage of me, in turn that makes the outcome of some situations unfair and unethical. My values are strong southern values, I like to make sure that everyone is treated fairly and treated with respect. Everyone deserves a fair chance to represent their own thoughts and course of action prior to any thing happening. No one in this world is perfect so all persons make mistakes and we learn from the mistakes that we as people make and the mistakes of others, bettering ourselves to make better choices later in life from the personal and ethical standpoint. Being able to be a strong minded yet companionate person allows me to voice my opinions and be respectful to other people’s feelings and needs but at the same I am able to get my point across and come up with a rational and productive decision. In determining a course of action I find in important to think slowing and rationally to allow for a smooth and ethical way of allowing the situation

Often in life and in literature, people find themselves in overpowering situations. This is what Herodotus was referring to when he wrote, “Men are at the mercy of events and cannot control them.” In other words, people suffer not because of their own actions, but because of the situation in which they find themselves. This is true in considering Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck because George and Lennie, the two protagonists, and other minor characters suffer due to events beyond their control. Herodotus’ quotation is also true in considering William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, because the protagonists, Romeo and Juliet, are also overpowered by the forces that surround them. Herodotus’ quote proves particularly true in considering the setting of both novels, the conflicts within the two texts, and the characterization of the protagonists and even the minor characters within the novels.…

Fiction is an attempt to tell the truth about things we generally lie about. I agree because authors write books that tell every thing like it is and that it seems right but is very wrong, and they tell it with out censorship and make readers think is that the way friends, family , and strangers think too because I can’t read their minds?…

After completing the Ethical Lens Inventory my preferred ethical lens was Results Lens and Reputation Lens. I learned that the result lens and reputation lens show that I am a person who listen to my intuition (sensibility) to determine the greatest good for each individual (autonomy) and the character traits and virtues that will best serve the community (equality). I also learned that my Core Values are Balances between self and others meaning I value autonomy and equality equally. It also stated that interdependence is the goal, harmonizing the rights of individuals with the well-being of the community. My classical values are Prudence and Fortitude which showa I demonstrate wisdom in practical matters and foresight as I act with enlightened self-interest in each circumstance. It stated that I manage to avoid rash actions while bringing the gift of entrepreneurship to the table. I stated that I also bring optimism, imagination and courage in the face of obstacles. I found my blind spots are im satisfied with too little good or unrealistic role expectations. I learned from the inventory that sometimes I fail to be accountable to those who are depending on me. So long as im satisfied with my own needs, I can become complacent, leaving problems unresolved in the long-term and everyone else to fend for themselves. The inventory also stated that I run the risk of developing unrealistic role expectations, and I will tend to rely too much on the virtues associated with a particular role, forgetting that individuals are fallible regardless of their role. I didnt agree completly my inventory results from my blind spots, but I found it to be very interesting.…

The ethical lens inventory exercise is very useful and something that I have lost sight of over the years. I was first introduced to this concept when I first applied for a sales position over a decade ago. After completing the exercise, the results of my answers places me in the Rights and Responsibility Lens. Since no one is perfect, having blind spots is inevitable, my blind spot as a result of my answers states that "belief that motive justifies method." My strengths are reason and self knowledge, whereas my weakness is becoming judgmental and legalistic.…

There were many results of my ethical lens inventory. The results of my classical values are temperance. I value individual balance and restraint in the want for pleasure that I seek to fulfill my duties. My key phrase is “I am responsible”, because of this I assume that what I think is responsible should apply to everyone. My definition of ethical behavior is “fulfilling duties”, I feel an ethical person would be one who fulfills their duties and does the right thing. The tools I use to analyze problems are reason. I tend to think about problems carefully and research them so I am receiving the fullest and accurate data. My blind spot would be that “Belief that motive justifies method”. This means that I could unknowingly cause people upset and pain because I am focused on good motives. It also means I believe that there is a set of individual rules that everyone should follow, it also means that I follow the rules. My seeing clearly is listening to my heart, I always follow my heart about everything before my head and that could also be a downfall. Sometimes I put my belief above others because it is what I think is right, but what I think is right is not always right. My personal lens could affect my academic behavior by my crisis which is becoming exhausted. Being exhausted and not pacing myself could definitely direct my academic behavior. It could direct it by being tired and exhausted therefore not being able to perform academically to the best of my abilities. My ethical lens influences my critical thinking because it means that I am responsible. By being responsible and wanting to fulfill my duties to the best of my ability it means I ask questions and research everything, therefore…

Individuals that possess Character ethical perspectives tend to base their ethics on "what it is good to be rather than good to do." When judging another person's actions, he or she will look for ethical behavior based on their character. In this perspective, the character of a person is more important than their actions. "This category is most likely aligned in philosophy with the virtue theory." Qualities values in this category are wisdom, honesty and integrity. Demonstrating these qualities for those in the Character category are more important than following the rules. This perspective also believes that individuals are incapable of ethical behavior and choosing between right or wrong, without possessing good character.…

III. Strengths and weaknesses – One of my strengths is in self-knowledge. It states that when I say I am going to do something or care for someone, I will follow through with it, which is entirely true. Even within my gaming community, when it involves people playing fictitious characters on a computer screen, when I tell someone I am going to do something for them, I follow through with it to the best of my ability. Also when it comes to someone asking me a question in game about something, I will research everything I can find until I have the correct answer to give them. My weaknesses are with becoming too judgmental and legalistic, meaning I can become overly rigid with my expectations and obsess over minute details. I do have a tendency to get upset if someone does not do what they say they are going to do and tend to label them not so much as unethical, but as lazy.…

My ethics lens inventory results were right and responsibility lens which says that I am rational when making decision on my duties. It says that my values are protecting individual’s rights and believe that everyone should be treated fairly. My classical value temperance says that I know who I am and I know how to act with integrity. My blind spot is that I believe motives justify methods. Which means that I can cause someone else pain when I only focus on “my” good motives and may overlook someone else feelings an take them for granted. My weakness is being autocratic (bossy). I look for everyone to do it my way and I do not consider any other approaches once I made up my mind.…

Personal ethics is what an individual believes about morality and right and wrong. My ethics are personal beliefs and morals that reflect and define the person I am. My ethical perspective that was identified by the Ethical Lens Inventory was each of the lens (rationality, autonomy, sensibility, equality) equally. As a result of this, I have no blind spot. I have a mature ability to use and adapt the right tools in a given situation. I value autonomy and equality equally. I make ethical choices for myself and others. I believe that all people should be treated with respect, fairness, and justice. My strength is balance among all four lenses because I see the benefits that each can bring to a decision or situation. My weakness is that I run the risk of inaction, seeing everything and deciding nothing. As long as I stay self –aware, I can keep the courage of my own convictions.…

Having ethics or being ethical is “relating to morality of behavior conforming within accepted standard of good behavior, the principles of right or wrong in human conduct” (Webster Dictionary). Being ethical means that you will always do or say things that will be upstanding in society and in your personal life; no one wants to make bad decisions that will ultimately affect others who are close in your life negatively. Being ethical or having morals is an everyday battle in every step of our lives we had to make these decisions from relationships, how to deal with others, and your children and the problems they might face. I consider myself an ethical person, the conflict I face is can I make responsible choices that can benefit me and my family and the people that I come across on a daily in a positive way. According to the Ethical lens inventory report that I took my core values are “autonomy, rationality and sensibility”. My concern is that all individuals’ rights are protected this way each person is treated fairly. As an ethical person I feel that I bring optimism, imagination and the gift of entrepreneurship to the table. The strengths that I posses as an open minded person while trying to analyze problems are my reasoning skills and experiences. I carefully think thru problems and weigh out all my options that will allow me to fulfill my duties as a friend to help come…

    SWOT Analysis

I would have to say that my biggest strength is my wife and daughters, they are the reason that I do everything that I do. They could also be one of my biggest weaknesses I say this because I will do everything and anything for them no matter what. I also believe that I possess some other strengths as well, such as good communication skills, leadership skills, I am very well disciplined as well as very determined. I would have to say that it takes a lot for me to give in. I think that my biggest weakness is time management there are periods when it just seems impossible ti manage my time in order to accomplish all that I have to do in a day. This weakness also contributes to another weakness of mine which is too much stress. I tend to over stress on things at times which interferes with the situation at hand. The other big weakness that I have like I mentioned earlier is also my biggest strength and that is my family. When it come to my family they are my world I will do anything and everything for them even if I know that what I am doing may not be the right thing at the time. This weakness at times can have a negative effect on what I am doing and cause me to struggle a little more that I might need to. However I feel that because my family can both be a strength and a weakness for me overall they coincide well enough for things to work to my desire. For me right now the area that my strength and weaknesses are affecting the most is me going back to school. This is the biggest obstacle that I have in my life at the current time, not to mention that my wife is seven months pregnant with our second child. This is where all of my strengths and weaknesses collide and the battle begins. As I previously mentioned this is where time management comes in to play for me. On a daily basis I have to figure out how to manage my time well enough to meet my jobs needs, my family’s needs, school, and last but not least my personal needs. I struggle with this…

I found the Ethical Lens Inventory to be fairly representative of myself. My preferred lens is the Reputation lens, which is defined as “listen(ing) to your intuition (sensibility) to determine what character traits and virtues will best serve the community (equality)” (Ethical Games LLC, 2013). It stated that equality and sensibility are my core values. I agree that I am compassionate and have a strong respect for tradition. I must ward against having unrealistic role expectations. If I lack compassion I will forget that problems affect individuals, not just a whole company. As I strive to be successful I must balance all of my character traits in an effort to improve my community, while not ignoring the needs of individuals.…
