One of the competencies I gained when doing the ethic portfolio is the ability to analyze, synthesize, think critically, solve problems and make decisions, articulate and apply a public service perspective. For example, I had to think about my professional and personal values. This took me sometimes since I never had
to think about them before. Another competency that I gained is the ability to communicate and interact productively with a diverse & changing workforce citizenry. This competency was important when I was working in the portfolio because I got to receive feedbacks from the professor and classmates. The interactions and feedbacks were important to me because I learned that it is important to see other people views and see how to improve.
Like previous artifacts, my writing skill was required to do the portfolio. Also, my oral communication skill improved since I had to discuss with my classmates and professor about the portfolio that I did. The greatest skill that I gained from this artifact is the critical thinking skill. I improved this skill because I need to think about values, what is appropriate in the workplace as a public administrator and as a citizen.
