Professionalism is the conduct or qualities characterized by conforming to the technical or ethical standards of a profession; exhibiting a courteous, conscientious, and generally businesslike manner in the workplace. There are many attributes that contribute to being professional. The many that stick out in my mind are responsibility and accountability, leadership, honor and integrity, respect, and caring compassion and communication. All of these attributes pertain to the professional work environment in the own important way. When you are a professional you need to have responsibility and accountability. This means you have to demonstrate awareness of your own limitations, and identify developmental needs and approaches for improvements. You care for yourself appropriately and you present yourself in an appropriate manner (demeanor, dress, and hygiene). You recognize and report errors and poor behavior in peers. You have to take responsibility for appropriate share of teamwork. You have to arrive to work on time. You need to be accountable for deadlines, complete assignments and responsibilities on time. To be a person who is deemed professional you have to have a sense of leadership. Leadership in the healthcare field means you have to be willing to teach others. You help build and maintain a culture that facilitates professionalism. As a leader you do not participate in workplace pranks. Another important aspect of professionalism is honor…

Three reasons that ethics and integrity are important to a police chief. First, Being a chief of the police gives the individual great powers; the sort of power that for example drug dealers may contact him and try to bribe him to close his eyes at certain location in the city for few hours so they can do whatever they need to do. Here in the above example comes integrity of that policeman. In another scenario imagine the chief is interrogating and uncooperative suspect who does not want to give up vital information, should the police man start torturing the guy for information? The answer is no and here is when the ethics come in play.…

One of the qualities of professionalism in the workplace is conduct. How a person conducts himself is very important. The person should arrive on time to work. It is selfish of an employee to not value the time of their work or their customers. A professional always dresses appropriately to their work environment. Being professional does not mean you have to wear a suit every day. If a person works construction being professional is wearing the proper work attire and showing up with the right tools to a jobsite. He also should always conduct business in an ethical way. (“Professionalism”) Customers and clients will notice for you are handling your business in a shady or underhanded way which could make you lose their trust. A professional also never talks down to his employees. It is never right to address serious matters with an employee in front of other…
What is Ethics? My understanding of Ethics is that it is the difference between doing something right or doing something wrong. People make choices in life that could affect them either positively or negatively. For example, when I make the choice to go to all of my classes on Monday this would be the right thing for me to do. By paying attention, by making sure I understand the material, taking notes, raising my hand and asking questions will enable me to become better prepared. I would benefit by going to every class for the entire semester which will help me become more organized and equipped which could eventually lead to better grades and understanding. On the other hand, the wrong decision would be not to go to all of my classes. I would…
Professionalism to me personally is being properly dressed looking and acting the part being on time and how you present yourself for example, In a medical setting, healthcare professionals must set the standard for the interaction with patients and visitors. They are constantly in contact with people who will assist them based on the way they communicate, body language, and appearance. Professionalism for medical field being kindness goes a long way in gaining a patient’s confidence. A visit to the doctor can be enough stress without having to deal with unfriendly and disorganized medical staff for medical billers professionalism is being on time coming clean and hygienic at wok knowing what you’re doing how to be organized and file the write forms for the medical business having knowledge in knowing the cpt and how to code if you do It wrong that’s interfering with the doctors money and you do not want to that it is very un professional, professionalism is also about like loving your job because if you don’t enjoy your job you’ll come to work miserable and most likely not doing your job right coming to work happy well rested on time is also a trait of professionalism. Doing research on your job before you get hired or going on a interview is professional reading up on what it’s all about what you are going to be doing in that field of work to see if you would actually enjoy it or not because if you don’t do research on what your job is or anything of that matter you could be getting yourself into something you dint like doing and you don’t want that.…

Ethics are the beliefs the individual has of what is right and wrong. When making decisions, people rarely ever use critical thinking or ethical thinking alone. Professionalism is described as "the conduct, aims, or qualities that characterize or mark a profession or a professional person." (Merriam-Webster, 2016).
