Is there such a thing as a justified killing? Is all murder morally wrong? According to the bible one shall not kill, but that is a very vague statement. Its basically saying that no matter what killing is bad. Even if ones life may be threatened one shall not kill. Some would say yes it is wrong to kill someone no matter what. It is a sin to take ones life and with that should never be done. Well that is true, no one should go out and kill people for fun or anything like that. But if someone is in a position where there life is being threatened would they let that person kill them or would they fight for their life and kill that person if it came down to it? It may not be morally right and some may actually follow that right no matter what the situation, but there are also people who not hesitate to kill someone if their life was on the line. That doesn’t make that person in the wrong or any less of a person than someone who wouldn’t do it. There are different views to this question and how one would react to it. One view on this topic is that killing is wrong, there is no justified killing, and murder is just wrong, no ifs ands or buts about it. It says in the bible that thou shall not kill for it is a sin to take a life out of envy or hate. Everyone is god’s children and all should obey what he teaches. It is wrong to take ones life out of anger or even if it is to protect ones self. And one should accept the fate that lies ahead. Some would understand this view because it is wrong to take someone life no matter what the situations is. If a person has a conscience then that should tell them that murdering someone is bad. Even if someone is in a life or death situation and it is either them or the killer, that person is going to die because they believe it is just morally wrong to do that to a person. And they may not go down without a fight and would probably try and get the person that is trying to kill them to see that killing someone is wrong. But they
still would die then kill someone. Then there is the other view that some murders are justified, there is just a line that is drawn on which ones are classified as justified. Some would say that if they were corned and it was there life or the other person’s life then they would do what they have to do to save their life. A lot of people value their life more than others. Even though they may have different morals doesn’t not mean that they’re any different from anybody with stronger morals. Some people where just raised to believe in different things and in different ways. Some case that may fall under a justified murder would be self-defense. A perfect example would be the George Zimmerman case that was recently in the news for him being on trial for killing a kid. The case was about Zimmerman who was night patrolling his neighborhood when out of nowhere there was a suspicious person that was walking the neighborhood so Zimmerman was taking precaution. Then the peculiar person snuck up on Zimmerman and was attacking him and so out of self-defense he reacted by killing Trevyon Martin who was the kid walking the neighborhood. But the case ended up taking awhile because the defense was arguing that it was out of defense and no other reason. The prosecutor on the case was arguing that he did it out of hate and racism but that was not true and ended up in Zimmerman’s favor and he won they case. So this is an example of a justified murder. Zimmerman was protecting his neighborhood from this man and did what he had to do. This doesn’t mean that he doesn’t feel bad about it or that was morally of him. He just had to do what he felt was right. And that was protecting ones self out of defense against the murderer. Zimmerman is not in the wrong and should not be looked down upon because he did this. Everyone has their own rights and opinions and so did they judge and jury who ruled in his favor on the trial. Another view that may be classified as a justified murder would be if there was a mass murderer on the loose and if the police came in contact with the murderer and he may have a hostage held at gun point then the police are going to do what they can to try and get the hostage away safe. Even though there first option is not to kill this man but if it comes to it the police will shoot him in order to save other lives. This is considered justified and it should because thousands of lives could be saved if one is taken. Yes it may seem harsh but as humans with feelings and emotions and lives that we cherish so much are thankful for this. The different views on this topic are not right or wrong. There are just different people with different morals and different opinions of live. We should not look at each in different ways because of this. Everyone was made individual for a reason and everyone should respect that. And it is ok that people look at situations differently it lets us look at the different views and sometimes helps us understand it better. Yes it is not right to murder people but yes it is ok if it comes down to it and doing it for a just reason. But only if it justified, this isn’t telling people its ok to kill people its just saying there are cases where it can be.
