1.0 Introduction to the DS Division [with respect to the project]
Administration
Kesbewa DS Division consists of an area of 55 square kilometers. It’ s limits are marked by Bolgoda river in south ,a reservoir of Bolgoda river from west ,a bus route running from Polgasowita to Kottawa from east and by bus route running from Homagama to Colombo from north.
Kesbewa DS Division consists of both Kesbewa Urban Council and Boralesgamuwa Urban Council.
Kesbewa DS Division consists of 73 Grama Sewa vasam and 120 Villages.
Population
The population of the DS Division is 243,474 and consist of62, 396 families living in 62,004 houses.
The population consists of 112000 males and 1170000 females.
8538 of the population are pensioners.
5996 families are receiving Samurdi financial Assistance.

The population consists of

1466 Christians

Natural resources the DS Division have are water from rain,water from resevoirs,underground water sources and natural vegetation and forest cover.

Upholding physical, mental and social wellbeing of the community in the GS division.
Strengthening the bond among people of GS division.
