Eugenics is the belief that selecting, partners, controlling the reproduction of certain groups of women, and controlling the generating of offspring improves the quality of human life. This practice dates back to ancient Greece, but after the Nazis adopted the practice of forced sterilization, it gained much criticism and scrutiny and was disapproved of by many people. There are studies that show negative behaviors may be due to unstable mental processes found within the brain. By altering the DNA makeup of children, their mental processes can be controlled which would help create people that are better versions of what they ultimately would have been. They would be more kind, more generous, more hard-working, smarter, and better looking. Eugenics could potentially be a great medical innovation.
The practice of eugenics is very expensive, engineering a perfect child is not something that most people can afford. It also kills human diversity because it takes away the diversity of the biological parents. When the new generation of people is created genetically, it eliminates the diversity of the previous generations.
Research also shows that there would be extreme discrimination against the non- genetically altered children because they would not have the same good looks, smarts, and other attributes of the genetically altered children.
