One of the main driving forces for imperialism in Africa is that Europeans wanted to rule and have more power. According to the document, “Selected African Colonies and Their Exports”, it states six of the African colonies that were taken over and their resources that were exported. Many of those African colonies had resources that were very useful. One of the reasons South Africa was taken over by Great Britain was because of the gold and diamonds that could be made into jewelry and riches.
