II. People should have the right to do what ever they desire with their own life. Everyone has free will. The following will address this issue as a choice that people should be allowed to make for themselves whether they want to continue suffering or not.
III. Assisted suicides is only one persons choice and is not affecting anyone else.
a. Sure some people will argue and say it does affect others but it isn't about anyone else but the patient. It is selfish to prolong someones pain because you don't think its right. If someone truly feels that they want to no longer live then it should be allowed.
b. Anyone that is suffering from a terminal illness should be allowed to request assisted suicide. Every individual should have options. Living every single day of your life in pain doesn't sound like a good choice and if you can end it then why not? It would be wrong to not give someone the chance to choose but why shouldn't a person be able to make that decision for themselves.
IV. It makes economic sense
a. It doesn't make sense to pay so much money to keep someone alive for a couple of months when they are going to be in so much pain that whole time.
b. according to an article on “listverse.com” it costs around $39,000 to keep a person in treatment. In the end you really have to think, is it really worth it? Would you want to see someone you care about in constant pain? Would you want to spend the last moments of your life that way and have people you care about see you that way? As stated in the article, “And when the terminally ill patient undergoing these nasty, expensive treatments has repeatedly insisted that they’d rather be dead, you have to start wondering who all this expenditure is really benefiting.”
V. Although there are examples of euthanasia in the bible, people might still think that in gods eyes it is morally wrong.
