I.- INTRODUCCION

There are several methods of monitoring the development of children and young people. Standard measurements are the way children and young people are measured in their development from birth onwards, children are weighed and measured even before they are born to ensure that they are growing at a good rate. Health visitors as well as nurses at the local medical centre will monitor developments after birth. The ‘norms’ described earlier in this project are the main way of monitoring…

Also children who are in high distress like poverty, suffered low effortful control. So when looking at the temperament development in the infant against the parenting, maternal and family influences, they all contribute to some characteristic of temperament being present in the child. The more contributing factor, the more affect it has on the child's temperament. While identifying these characteristics early, it can help incorporate better parenting practices and control the temperament in the…

Throughout my time spent here in Spain, I have found the cross-cultural similarities and differences of child-rearing practices to be an extremely interesting area of study. Comparatively the families of the American and Spanish societies have quite different methods of raising a child and introducing him or her to this world. What is and what is not socially acceptable is the only differing area when looking at any two cultures side-by-side. Certain things that are considered normal for the Spanish culture are looked at as odd from an American perspective; along with the opposite existing when the Spanish people examine American culture. The things that are taught to children living in Africa compared to those that live in America differ much more widely but still serve the same purpose. The different cultures contribute the exact same thing to each respective society in the long-run, a new productive member of each society.…

There are 133 million births each year. The statistics state, four births occurs every second of every day. The process in which the mother has to undergo in order to give birth is labor. Labor takes an average amount of thirteen hours. How a mother gives birth and what she uses to cope with the pain is very questionable. Drugs are used to relieve the mother’s abdominal pain, although the use of the drugs may resort to health problems in her body or her infant’s body. Natural birth, no use of any drugs, is reconsidered due to possible illness for both mother and child. The benefits and disadvantages of the use of drugs during child labor are questionable due to the possible effects of the medication. According to the journal’s analysis the Positive Parenting Program is very effective when involving the mother and the father, and the children are the beneficiaries of better parenting skills. The study does not show which population the program is working on therefore we have to take into consideration how can we make the proper adjustments in order to make it work for other populations. It is a known fact that mothers are more involved with the program and the children than the fathers are, but fathers are getting involved more every time. Prior parental training programs did not focus on fathers or valued any input on it and there was very little literature for the fathers. The fathers’ involvement plays a very important role on the children’s life…
