Evaluation on Harry Potter A ook is able to come to life when the author has put just enough detail for the readers to visualize this new world. The author very cleverly depicts complex characters and plot. J.K. Rolwling, the author of the Harry Potter books has done the same. This novel is not only for people who like magical stories but also for people who love comedy, drama, romance, and thrillers. Even though years have passed since the last book of the saga has been realized fans still cherish this magical world. The Harry Potter books are considered a successful book series because of its complexity of characters and plot, as well as its worldwide fandom. The general plot of the book is about a boy names Harry Potter, an orphan, who lives with his muggle(non-magical folks) aunt, uncle, and cousin. Harry Potter discovers he is a very powerful wizard and that his parents and his parents died trying to protect him from the Dark Lord who is a dark powerful wizard hungry for power. The reason why the Dark Lord is after Harry’s life is because there is a prophecy that states that only one of them can live while the other will die since both Harry Potter and the dark Lord are powerful. Harry Potter, the boy who lived, attends Hogwarts School of Witch craft and Wizardary and meets his mentor also te princepal, Albus Dumbledore as well as his companion, Hermoine Granger, Ron Weasley, Ginny Weasely, Luna Lovegood, and Neville Longbottom. The motive that Harry has to achieve now is to defeat Lord Voldemort. The last book ends with an epic battle between the two enemies. A book seems to be more realistic when the plot is so carefully and well written that everything makes sense. The overall plot to this series seems to typical, but it is because this series cannot be summarized into a single paragraph. The twists and turn in the book include the unbearable love between Harry Potter’s mother and Severus Snape, a professor at Hogwats that has always appeared to dislike Harry. Another twist would include the realization that in order to kill Voldemort each part of his soul would have to be destroyed individually since his soul is divided into seven parts. Another shocking twist would be that Harry Potter’s wand and Voldemort’s wands are twins, so they cannot kill each other with their original wands. Not only are the twists that element that makes the plot so incredible but also the love stories between the characters. This book has something ot offer for everyone. The complexity of the characters make s seem as though these characters are real people. Each character has his or her own pros and cons. The books have not sugar coated the characters to make them seem as if they are extraordinary heroes. Yes, they are heroes in the book however each other characters do have their faults. For example Ron Weasley, Harry Potter’s best friend, deals with an insecurity complex when he thinks that Hermione Granger, his crush, and Harry Potter haves something going on between them. Harry Potter the main character has ego problems, since he is the chosen one, he at times considers himself above everyone else. Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter’s rival/enemy at school, deals with fear. Draco cannot stand up for himself, he also has ego problems. In the beginning of the novel he could not bear the fact that Harry Potter rejected his friendship, and that Harry Potter is better than him. When the author shows character weaknesses it makes the story more believable because in real life no one is perfect. Lastly one way to measure how successful a book series is by the amount of fame and stardom it receives. The Harry Potter series have been the recipients of a host of awards since the initial publication of Philosopher's Stone including four Whitaker Platinum Book Awards. The series has received three. Also two Scottish Arts Council Book Awards, as well as the inaugural Whitbread children's book of the year award, the year. In 2000, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was nominated for a Hugo Award for Best Novel, and in 2001, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire won said award. Honors include a commendation for the Carnegie Medal, a short listing for the Guardian Children's Award in 1998, and numerous listings on the notable books, editors' Choices, and best books lists of the American Library Association, The New York Times, Chicago Public Library, and Publishers Weekly. Along with these awards and honors, the book series has sold about 450 million copies, making it the best-selling book series in history, and has been translated into 67 languages. The last four books consecutively set records as the fastest-selling books in history. The books gained so much popularity that movies were made after books and these movies created movie stars like Daniel Radcliff, plays the role of Harry Potter, Emma Watson, plays the role of Hermoine Granger, Tome Felton, plays the role of Draco Malfoy and many others. The fandom increased after the movie saga was over that now there is a Hogwats at Universal Studies in Florida. The Harry Potter book series is considered a book series because of its breathtaking plot, characters, and stardom. All in all the author J.K. Rowling has done a commendable job in creating a whole other world.

It does not matter if you answer a question correctly or incorrectly, share great wisdom or none at all, raise an insightful objection or join in heartfelt acclamation of the obvious, thoughtful classroom participation is always encouraged. Class participation is important for several reasons. Participating will help teach a person to work with others and as a team player. Also, by participating the person can learn more and understand more details about what they are doing. At this time in the semester I am missing two different molecules from my writing lab and an exercise from chapter twelve in my English book. There is one area I would like to improve on in the second half of the semester and that is my test scores. I have always had low test scores .Every time I take a test I score low, because I get so nervous…
