There are no complaints on Walker’s Everyday Use. The Color Purple has many views on it. “Walker has earned high praise for The Color Purple, particularly for her accurate rendering of folk idiom, her use of the oral storytelling tradition, and her characterization of Celie” (Critics,2011,para.2). Many feminist have praised Walker for showing struggles that women undergo (Critics,2011). Walker was criticized for displaying African American in an abusive way, and how she characterized people in The Color Purple (Critics,2011). Walker’s writings are overall viewed as great writings. Alice Walker is a very inspiring author with excellent writings. She can do it all from poetry, short stories, and novels. Two of her best writings are Everyday Use and The Color Purple.
