Hello Beatrice, I appreciate your input about ways evidence used by community health nurses and its usage by nurses to improve patient outcome in the community. I also like the way you explained how community health nurses can include evidence in their practice. For example, you mentioned “community health nurse is like an advocate for health care providers in the community therefore any new health information is relayed through them. And, that they focus primarily on health prevention and health promotion, therefore if evidence based nursing is integrated in life long approach to solve both internal and external questions that may arise in the satisfactory management of a patients illness”. I absolutely agree with you, in addition to advocate
for patients, community health nurses also can use evidence to raise awareness on community health needs and issues, design wellness-promoting and disease preventing programs for community populations and promote policies that improve health. Based on my readings about this topic, I have learned that it is also imperative for nurses to stay current in research by remaining up to date with nursing trends, knowledge, technology and updated research/ journals in order to encourage health promotion, health maintenance and disease prevention within the community. Overall, I enjoyed reading your response, it was very informative and I like the fact you mentioned community health care nurses can use evidence to help cut cost of treatments by educating patients about interventions.
