Course Description
This course is designed for prospective event professionals to develop detailed planning strategies for a successful event and integrate the various event management processes. The areas of event conceptualization and planning are discussed …show more content…
with specific emphasis on planning, concept development and budgeting. An estimated budget for the event will be developed incorporating the various aspects of planning and organizing an event. It will also help students to comprehend and construct an event logistics plan.

I. Quizzes (10%)
There will be two (2) quizzes. The format for each quiz is as follows: Section A : 2 - 3 short essay questions (20 marks) Section B : 1 situational/problem based question (30 marks) Total Time : 1.

II. Common Test (20%)
There will be one (1) common test. The format for the test is as follows: Section A : 5 - 6 short essay questions (40 marks) Section B : 2 situational/problem based questions (60 marks) Total Time : 2 hours
III. Project (50%)
This is a group exercise that seeks to reinforce what employers see as one of the most important characteristics for any graduate: to be able to work effectively in a team. The project also provides the opportunity for the group to show imagination & flair in a management setting. The group needs to plan for an event and present the proposal to the class at the end of the semester. Students should come up with a comprehensive budget and compilation of materials and documentation related to the planning process.
