That’s why authors use this technique, to improve the quality of their work. In The Great Gatsby, Chronicles of a Death Foretold, and Purfume, exaggeration is used to help you see and understand twisted and shocking stories. In Chronicles of a Death Foretold, the whole book is filled with exaggeration. It’s so dramatic the way the characters and their actions are described. The whole book is the narrator lying to the reader about how they know everything going on. The narrator really makes us believe that he/she is in the characters head when really they only know what’s on the surface. The author does
