What is politics? The activities associated with the governance of a country or other area, especially the debate or conflict among individuals or parties having or hoping to achieve power.
What is government? Government is the system for implementing decisions made through the political process.

Why is there always conflict in society?
The relationship between conflict and politics. Because conflict is rooted in the process.
Tyranny: Cruel and oppressive government or rule.
What is a representative democracy? It’s a variety of democracy founded on the principle of elected officials representing a group of people, as opposed to direct democracy
What are the basic functions of government? Provide public goods, Determine and enforce civil laws of property and conduct, Enforce and regulate fair and responsible business practices, Protect and regulate the sustainable use of natural resources, Foreign Relations - Diplomacy and Defense
Why do we have government? To provide order and to promote the general welfare.
Why is the U.S. a democratic republic? It is one where ultimate authority and power is derived from the citizens, and the government itself is run through elected officials.
Define and describe the theories of American democracy?
Ideology; ideologies in United States politics. Ideology is a cohesive set of ideas and beliefs used to organize and evaluate the political world.
