This examination is to test your knowledge and what you have learned from The Helping Process: Assessment to Termination. There are 30 short-answer questions, and each question is worth half of a point.
1 Identify and describe the three parts of the assessment phase.
The three parts of the assessment phase are 1. Making initial contact 2. Problem identification 3. Gathering and assessing information. Making initial contact this can be done over the phone or during the intake process. Problem identification while interviewing this is where you find the issue that the client is having by gathering information. The gathering information about the client and their circumstances this part of the assessment will help the helper in the next stage of the process.
2 Why is documentation such an important piece of the helping process?
Documentation is an important part of the helping process in many ways the notes on your client will help you in planning their program as well as showing what changes need to be made. You can also use the documentation to show what has been tried and what still needs to be done to help the client. Documentation can also be used if a different helper has to take over the case in a time of a referral.
3 How is the strengths-based approach used in the assessment phase? Provide an example.
The strengths-bases approach is used during the assessment phase by finding the strengths of the client and finding a way to use those strengths to help the client. A client has a positive outlook and is welling to learn new items to help themselves. They have a vast computer knowledge but have poor social skills. You would build on the computer skills and work on the social skills. Building the things that the client is good at while building what their weaknesses are this will give the client a more positive mentality.
4 Why is motivational interviewing considered a valuable
