TIME ALLOWED: 3 HOURS
Read the following information & instructions carefully.
INFORMATION TO CANDIDATE
1. This is an OPEN book exam, you are allowed to bring any reference books, tables etc 2. Any form disk storage i.e. portable hard disk, pen disk etc are NOT allowed to be brought into the exam hall.
INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATE
3. Answer ALL FOUR (4) questions. Follow the instructions in each question carefully.
4. Answer all questions in INVENTOR 2010 or 2009 versions. Make a folder in your name in the desktop and save all your works (ipt, iam, ipn & dwg or idw files) in that folder for subsequent transferred to Lecturer’s computer hard disk for evaluation.
5. Do NOT switch off the computer after use, the lecturer will save your folder into his portable computer hard disk storage for evaluation.
A car radiator thermostat is shown in the following pages. Draw the exact 3-D model of all the five individual components (parts in ipt files) shown. Your drawings shall be in correct dimensions and sizes as shown.

Full marks will be obtained for components that exactly match the drawings supplied.

Question 2 (25 marks)
Form the fully assembled drawing as shown in page 3 (assembly in iam file). Full marks will be obtained for components assembled in the correct positions, components appearing on the assembly drawing, but not assembled will attract no marks.
There are 5 components in total and each one will attract 5 marks if it is properly assembled within the structure. In order to obtain any marks at least two components need to be shown properly assembled.
