Abstract
Background: The article presents practical data regarding the utilisation of mixed method approach in registered nurse leadership research to reinforce the complexity and extent of understanding of nursing phenomena in Residential Aged Care Facilities after-hours.
Aim: The aim is to review the application of mixed methods research within the nurse leadership in residential aged care facilities research.
Discussion: The article identifies a mixed method approach, which involves amalgamation of qualitative and quantitative research data in a research study. The essential goal of mixed methods research is to tackle a given research question from any relevant angle, making use where appropriate of previous research and/or more than one type of investigative perspective.
Conclusion: Mixed methods approaches are increasingly being utilised in nursing and produces several benefits in nursing research.
