Joseph, I agree with your views that mental health patients are one kind subculture. Similarly, the drug addict patients contain specific characteristics. Such as, some of these patients called, “frequent flyers”. These patients has been admitted many times in the hospital, complains of unbearable pain, however, all the test results come out negative. They usually get admitted in the hospital for 1 to 2 days, receives strong pain medication around the clock and always their pain level 10 from 0 to 10 scale, where 0 is none and 10 is the highest level of pain. Lastly, the doctor taper the medication in low dosage and then discharge the patient with some prescription. These characteristics only belongs to them, not the entire cultural group. On the other side, nurses are examples of one kind of subculture. We, nurses share some similar characteristics, which is not shared by the entire health professionals. Nursing has its own language, its own way of looking at the world, and even its own fashion trends. For example, nurses learn very well how to wash their hands. The procedure is been followed by the nurses to wash hands, may be the other people do not wash hands the same
