Introduction
On February 13, 2018 Emma Gonzalez was a normal 18 year old bisexual cuban. When she went to school the next day, she became a new person. She became an activist. On February 14, Nikolas Cruz used an AR-15 to kill 17 of her teachers and friends. How would you feel, and what would you do? Emma decided to have make her voice heard and has come expressed herselfout on Social Media. She has also given numerous speeches about this horrific event and what we should do to make a change.
INSPIRATION/BACKGROUND
Emma was inspired by Nikolas Cruz to take action. When she went into school on Valentines Dday, everything was it was normal until 12:19am , when Cruz came to his former school in a gold Uber with a black shiny gun on his back. Kids were climbing fences to get out of the building. She knew that something had to be done towards for everyone who was killed during this massacre. She knew that this hads to be done for the 17 people who were killed. Emma was inspired on February 14th when Nikolas Cruz shot 17 of her friends and teachers. Her posts include things such as “enough” and “never again.” She and many others have also made speeches telling lawmakers that if they don’t take action they will be voted out of office. At the March for our Lives event (An event where protesters demanded action for gun control laws) Emma Gonzalez’s speech included her saying the names of the victims that were shot, and then 6 minutes and 20 seconds on silence representing how long it took the shooter to kill those people. This was called “The loudest silence in US history.” “Alaina Petty would never, Cara Loughren would never, Chris Hixon would never, Luke Hoyer would never,...”Emma continued to say.
