Next, Blum expresses that students need more education about attribution in order to prevent plagiarism. The standard methods of teaching attribution to students as a singular concept instead of a learned skill leaves students with a very limited knowledge and understanding of what what the term academic integrity means…

I take full responsibility for my actions and realize that I am at fault for being in this position. Throughout the duration of my fall semester I endured many trials and tribulations that gravely affected my academic performance. One picking a difficult schedule that required a lot of reading from all four classes and I just felt overwhelmed. To prevent a worse semester I drop two classes to save my GPA. But I was still unsuccessful of bringing up my GPA. I regret not being able to maintain 2.5 GPA because of me picking challenging classes in one semester. My goal in 2013 is to pick classes that will not interfere with one another and raise my GPA. I would like to earn a degree in my field of education. Without financial aid I lack the ability to do this. I am a hard working student and the upcoming semester will prove so. Please understand that my poor academic performance that led to my dismissal doesn’t define me as a bad student. I’m a determined student who strives to graduate from a school that experienced one horrible semester. I am willing to commit to reach the minimum 2.5 GPA, and to following my Educational Plan. Thank you for taking the time to consider my appeal, I hope that I may prove myself in the upcoming semester. Thank you for the chance for appeal, and please consider appealing the dismissal.…
