The Department of Business Administration, Sur University college had conducted a one day workshop on project proposal preparation on 2nd December 2008. The objective of the workshop was to disseminate information on project proposal preparation among the project I students in the business administration department. The workshop was well attended by the project I students in the four specialties (Accounting, Finance and Banking, Hotel Management and Tourism and Management and Marketing) and the faculty members of the department.
The workshop started with the introductory speech by Prof. Nazar-Al Rubayi, Head of the department. He shared his experience in guiding project students of the previous batches and highlighted the importance of approaching the project proposal preparation in a systematic manner so as to finish the task within the limited time. The theme paper of the workshop was presented by Dr Sajeev, faculty member of the department. (Text of the presentation is posted) This was followed by discussion and question hour session by the participants. Prof. Ahmed Sharieh, Dean of the college attended the workshop throughout and offered valuable suggestions on improving the quality of project proposal preparation. The students gave their feed back at the end and presented the practical difficulties they experience in field work and data collection. Dean offered to solve these issues and advised the students to meet him if they face any problems that can be tackled through administrative intervention. The workshop concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. Thomas Chandy, teaching faculty in the department. The following Faculty members/Teaching staff attended the workshop apart from the project I students.
