Malala is brave and a symbol of hope. Malala was just one of the girls in Pakistan caught in terrorism. When she was only 11 years old, she continuously was bombed in Pakistan by the Taliban. The Taliban targeted schools that educated girls. However, Malala did not accept that. Malala and her father spoke out against that. Malala was very brave when she got shot for believing girls should attend school. “Even if I’m a girl, even if people think I can’t do it, I should not lose hope.” States Malala. Malala is definitely a symbol of hope and very
brave.
Iqbal was very brave and fearless. At 4 years of age Iqbal was sold by his father into bonded labour in a Pakistani carpet Factory in Punjab, in order to get his family a loan to pay for the wedding of Iqbal’s oldest brother. After he turned 10, Iqbal heard a speaker from the Bonded Labour Liberation Front, a Pakistani community-based organization dedicated to freeing children from such child slavery. Iqbal obtained a copy of their Charter of Freedom, a pamphlet about the rights of children. Iqbal used this to get free. From that moment, he became an active campaigner against child slavery. Iqbal was unfortunately assassinated at the age of 12. Iqbal had to be fearless to escape the slavery he was held captive in. Iqbal was brave to present himself to rebel against child labor. “He was 12 years old, and wanted to liberate slaves in Pakistan.” states Eraas Haider. Iqbal has changed the world in many ways.
Teen activist Malala is brave and a hope symbol, and Iqbal is strong and smart. Malala fought against eliminating girls education. She spoke out against the Taliban. Iqbal Masih rebelled against abusive child labor. He was held captive to be a slave, and died because he fought against it. For this reason, teen activism is really important because it changes the world. Teen activists inspire people either in the same situation as them, or that agree.
