No God is perfect in relationships. Many of the Gods,in fact have a lot interactions with mortals. Zeus or Sappho for example.The gods were bigger,more powerful versions of man. They had human emotions,but the lived forever. They had flaws,but great powers. They treated man sort of on an equal level. Some men became gods after their death and the gods,even fought wars alongside their human worshippers. So long as you didn't offend them,they would bless you. Often times, though their more human sides took over. Hera's great jealousy, Zeus's lust, Hephaestus's greed, Poseidon's anger, and so on and so forth. Their human qualities,often caused chaos or joy amongst the mortals in Greek mythology. A great example of this is when Athena, in the form of Mentor, goes to Telemachus and provides information and advice about his father, Odysseus. Soon after suggesting to Telemachus that he should dismiss the suitors, Athena advises him to, fit out a ship with twenty oars, and sail in quest of news of his long-lost father. In addition to receiving advice about searching for his father, Telemachus receives newborn confidence. After realizing he had just talked to Athena he has a swagger that he has never had before.
