Distracted driving is a leading cause of death and injury. There are many factors that contribute to these accidents; and the points learned about in Officer Melendez’s presentation “5 to Drive” are seatbelts, speeding, texting, drinking, and having too many people in a car. While these five points are a broad encompassment of all of the things that can harm and kill on the road, some are subsections of other topics, some have subsections of their own, and the dangers are not limited to these five points.
