This summer I had the privilege of job shadowing a great lawyer and family friend, Nancy Bonilla. I have nearly always wanted to be a lawyer, and in all honesty I was a little concerned that after watching a real court hearing, and seeing all the work that lawyers actually have to put into each and every case, I would no longer wish to become a lawyer. However my fears were removed entirely as soon as I walked into her downtown Fort Worth office; the day I had arranged to job shadow Mrs. Bonilla, she had a court hearing in Denton, so immediately upon my arrival I was exposed to the last minute stress of getting the clients case in order. I was able to help Mrs. Bonilla with getting her paper work…
I do not mind being around big crowds, but that doesn't mean I want to crash every party I am invited to. Having an active social life and extending my network of friends is relatively important to me, but it is not the most crucial thing. I have managed to strike an important balance between actively involving myself in my larger social network and spending quality time with a few intimate friends. Although I may not always be the conversation-starter or the "life of the party", I am generally a very outgoing individual, whether among friends or people I am less familiar with. I can easily relate to both extremes on the personality spectrum, and have an easier time delving in and out of the internal and external worlds.…
One likes to take walks and talk to people, while the other likes to stay inside or watch tv. I believe what really constitutes individuality are the people themselves because you as an individual express yourself in your own way. For example, imagine you are going shopping with some of your friends and one of them suggested you buy this shirt or this pair of shorts. Except you don't really like it. You shouldn’t really let people get…
He usually completes all assigned work in class, however, he is frequently rushing to finish task which means that he is often not producing his best work. Dylan will need to work on slowing down in class in order improving his presentation standards. If he spends more time working on completing task to the best of his ability his overall results should improve in the future.…
The way we live and the people we socialize on a daily basis made a difference on how we identify ourselves. Cultures gives us ideas of what is acceptable and what material objects we have to play, work, and develop. Meanwhile, social structure gives us an advantage, or disadvantage that helps us develop skills and connections that will identify us.…
Bob Dylan is recognized as one of the greatest rock and roll icons of the 1960s. Whether singing a topical folk song, exploring rock and blues, or delivering one of his more abstract compositions, Dylan has consistently demonstrated the rare ability to reach and affect listeners with thoughtful, sophisticated lyrics. It is safe to say that he has been able to define the mood of his generation through his songs which provide commentary to the restless age of the 60s. Dylan played the role of a spokesperson for his generation- some even call him a poet, a title to which he would not admit to. “I don’t call myself a poet because I don’t like the word,” he has said. “I’m a trapeze artist” (Bob Dylan Quotes).…

* Who am I? What life experiences made me who I am today? Was it my family, my social environment where I went to school, the groups, or organizations that I belonged to, or was it certain life events that shaped me? * This paper is my attempt to show that my family and social environment, my life experiences from childhood to present influenced me to be the person that I am today and who I will be in the future. As I reflect upon my life, at the age of forty-nine, I have come to the conclusion that my family and social environment when growing up, surviving cancer in my twenties, and getting married in my thirties are the main social influences and life events that have shaped who I am today and who I want to become in the future. Every one of these experiences has given me something: learning to be independent from family…
I live in very diverse community. People who surround me – my friends, co-workers, neighbours are different age, they’ve got different lifestyles, interests, beliefs, personal, social and cultural identities. For example: there are many different race and ethnic background people in my community. I live with Lithuanians, one of my neighbours is black, other ones white English. The English ones are pensioners and the black one is young mother, who spend a lot of time in her garden, looking after her plants. My housemates love sports, they go to the gym almost every day. The English couple most of their time spend at home, I often see their children…
Take for example Thandie Newton, a well known actress, even she had to adapt to her enviroment. Thandie admits that she was "the black aitheist girl in an all white Catholic school." She didn't fit in, and often felt left out because of her differences. She became depressed, stating that "My self was a car crash, and I wound up with Bulimia on a therapist's couch." However, if she was just placed in a different enviroment, with people that are more similar to her, then she wouldn't have felt left out. This proves that the people you are around (your enviroment) can have an effect on your…
At a young age, I waited on the benches for my mother to retrieve me from carpool. I observed my peers laughing together as they walked towards the gym for after-school sports. My mother, who soon arrived to find her kindergarten son sitting in solitude, scheduled numerous parent-teacher conferences. She would share her concerns while my teachers assured her that my "individuality" was what attracted friends to me. I had been a leader rather than a follower regardless of the opinion of others, and, to this day, that has remained static. I have evolved from that careless kindergarten leader, to an aspiring college graduate.…
However, when I went to college, the type of people that I was surrounded by was vastly different…
My early social experiences have contributed to my development and affected my educational experiences in a productive way. Throughout my years in school, I was not a student that was outspoken or had a lot of friends. I felt that I did not have time for socializing because I wanted to make the best out of my education. However, I participated in a lot of social events when I was younger. Being a Girl Scout in third grade taught me how to be sociable and work together with other people.…
