In the movie the lottery they use enculturation many ways. In the first part of the film the kids were running around collecting rocks. Rocks of all sizes and putting them into a pile. The kids are doing this like It’s a game. They are having fun while doing it and other people around are standing there watching them. They are having a normal day. While random people names are called they are called to get a paper out of a box. If you get the paper with the black dot the family gets to pick again. While in the movie it was Billy's family. Him, his 3 kids and Tessie all got to draw again. All the kids got a no and Bill did to.
When Tessie opened hers she got the black dot. People of all ages kids and old folks all grabbed more then one stone and starts throwing them at Tessie.
I honestly feel like no one should judge the actions and values of someone else, but I also feel like in the society today people always do it. You see people that always wear skirts because of there religion and people tend to ask why they are dressed up. After watching this film I want to know what they are thinking but that would be judging this is a hard thing to argue. When it comes to persuading some one I feel like you should not. I think informing someone is okay to do. Forcing someone to change or adapt to what you think is right is wrong. If you run into someone that doesn't believe in God and you do you are not going to sit there and tell them if you don't believe in God you are going to Hell you are going to inform them of everything you know. I think that is okay. You can't make anyone change unless they are willing to.
I have learned that enculturation is something you grow up in. My parents and grandma are all Christians so they expect me to be. I also learned that everyone views things different. The things that I think are wrong others think it's ok. There are so many people on this earth that go by what they believe. Weather you think it's right or wrong is what you think.
