Learning From Personal Hardships. When going through life an individual will undoubtedly find various hardships he or she will deal with. In Romeo and Juliet it displays various personal conflicts; from a broken heart, an arranged marriage, and the generation deep hatred embedded within family history. Moreover in The Alchemist following the story of a shepherd boy who once lost nearly everything; who had trouble finding his personal legend; the adventurer who could not find his own heart. Furthermore in A Man Who Had No Eyes, explains challenges facing the disabled. Individuals need to overcome their hardships, so that they may learn and mature.

Clearly the theme of loss frequently confronts each character in their own ways such as their death, loved ones death and star-crossed love. However it is most strikingly developed through the main characters; Romeo, Juliet, Tybalt, Mercutio, Capulet and Montague who seem to be affected by the theme of lost much more personally than other characters. Yet, throughout the play there are traces of optimistic themes such as love and friendship shown in various scenes featuring these same characters.
