Examples Of Heroism In Beowulf
Ralph Emerson’s description of a Hero may include words like important, courageous, brave, and persistent. When we look at Beowulf, you can see he exhibits many of the same qualities the Emerson uses to define a Hero. In Beowulf’s story, he is an important and respected person:
This my earls then urged me, the most excellent of them,
Carles very clever, to come and assist thee,
Folk-leader Hrothgar; fully they knew of
The strength of my body.
