of the world's population. Some of these people still live in non-industrial, off the grid communities, and some people have adapted into todays cultures and societies while still holding onto their sacred ways. These people who have come into urban settings left their ancient ways to adapt with paying jobs, electricity, and today's way of living. These people still hold onto their original lifestyles but also balancing living in our world. Native American tribes are a good example of why I believe that Indigenous Sacred Ways can be reconciled with modern industrialization. Tribes today are very successful with owning Casinos, but still live according to their sacred ways. They are utilizing the industrial world to help their tribes adapt, but still hold on to their sacred ways. Just because they indulge in our world does not mean they have completely gotten rid of their ways. They are helping themselves become successful, and they have done very well. They found a balance between their ways and todays world. They still respect the land, and still believe in everything they did previously, they are just adapting to benefit their people. Indigenous people have a strong relationship with their environment and beliefs, which they still can keep while living among other people. Not all people of indigenous ways can balance sacred beliefs and today's society, but some can, which is why I believe that they can reconcile in urban settings. I think that one could still follow their ways and live happy lives while living in urban settings.
They could easily return to sacred sites to feel as though they are reenergizing themselves, or returning to their roots to feel a closer sense to a higher power. Although not every type of indigenous person can leave to an urban setting where it is industrialized, some can, and do.
