Polynieces- age unknown
Newspaper Rough draft
Oedipus and Jocasta were Polynieces' parents. His siblings were Eteocles, Antigone, and Ismene. Polynieces was a husband to Argea. He shows that he is able to go after he wants and ignore fate. Oedipus left Eteocles and Polynieces with his power over Thebes but the did no handle this well. The brothers killed each other which is how Polynieces died.
At King Creon's request, no burial will occur. Anyone who expresses sadness of Polynieces death or tries to bury him will be stoned to death.
Any condolences should secretly be sent to Antigone and Ismene.
The festival of Dionysus
It is late March which mean the Festival has begun. The festival of Dionysus is a time to sing, dance, and worship of the god. Sacrifices are made and all over are men dressed up as satyrs. Wine production is always on a high demand this time of year. The first day the Dionysus statue was carried from the temple to the Theater. Every year this

happens to symbolize Dionysus' journey to Athens. Three plays are chosen to compete for the best tragedy. This began in 534 BC. Each play takes one day to perform. After each is performed, the people vote on which one is the best. We so far …show more content…
have had one play performed and will have to wait and see how the other two compare.
Mystery Man buries Polynieces
Earlier this week it was reported someone buried Polynieces body. We all are well aware of King Creon's law not to bury him and know the consequences. Who would dare to do such a thing? Although whoever did this must be very brave. Writing this, I speak for the people of Thebes in saying: Creon's decision is wrong. It is against the gods' will. Whether or not he was a traitor, Polynieces deserves to be buried. So whoever may have buried him, you are a hero. Even though we fear standing up to King Creon, hopefully this person will finally stand up to him.
Obituary #2
Oedipus- age unknown
King Oedipus' possesed a curse that got the best of him. His parents were Jocasta and Laius. He married his mother, Jocasta, and killed Laius. Oedipus had four children: Antigone, Ismene, Polynieces, and Eteocles. Unfortunately his fate could not be controlled even though his parents tried to avoid it at his birth by giving him away.

Oedipus was a man of determination and brilliance. These traits helped him in many ways, especially when solving the Sphinx's riddle. He was a good king to Thebes and when making decisions, he always had the people's best interest.
When finding out what he had done, Oedipus blinded himself and begged for punishment which his brother, Creon, granted him. Oedipus will be missed as a king and no one, especially not Creon, will replace him.
