As for epistemologically, I view phenomological approaches to be based in a paradigm of personal
knowledge and subjectivity with emphasis on personal perception and interpretation. As such, we attempt to understand the subjective experience, gain insight into a person’s motivations and actions, while sorting through the taken-for-granted assumptions and conventional wisdom.
To explore my axiological assumptions, I believe that outcomes are influenced by the researchers’ values, personal experiences, and worldviews. In addition, the values, experiences, and worldviews of the participants interact with those of the researchers which in turn deepens the analysis.
