When you are being held due to suspicion of a crime, it’s very possible that you will be interrogated by the police. Their goal will be to get information out of you about the crime, or even have you confess to it. While you have the right to remain silent until your attorney arrives, it is good to know some possible interrogation techniques that the police could use on you.
Lying To You
One misconception about the police is that they must tell you the truth in all situations. This is not true at all. Police officers are allowed to lie to mislead you if they are trying to get you to confess. For example, they may tell you that they have turned off the security camera in an attempt to get the real story, when it is actually recording the entire time.
