The pigs never worked on the farm after they took over the farm. The pigs just supervised the other animals, “ The pigs did not actually work, but directed and supervised the others” (32).
This is power abuse because it’s not fair for the other animals that they have to work and the pigs does not. Pigs never did the work, only the other animals did.
Animal Farm has a leader who uses his own power for himself. Napoleon is the leader of Animal Farm and he wants the animals to work for him. Napoleon gets mad when the animals do not listen to him. Napoleon changed the commandment when he send the dogs to attack the hens. The commandment states that “no animal shall kill other animals” (43). When Napoleon does not like what's happening he would change the commandment.
Sometimes selfish comes from power, in the book Animal Farm the leaders of the farm did not use the powers for others but for themselves. This shows us that power can cause some evil or sometimes people can use it for helping others.
