Following the witches’ prophecy was one mistake Macbeth made throughout the play. Those witches were equivocators who spoke only half-truth. Although they had the ability to foresee future, their prediction revealed neither instruction nor logic behind. Yet, Macbeth considered it a fact, an enlightenment, and an objective he must achieve. Like he conveyed aside that, “Two truths are told, / As happy prologues to the swelling act/ Of the imperial theme.” (1.3.140-42). This soliloquy reveals Macbeth’s perception in the witches’ prophecy. Based on the correct prediction of him became the Thane of Cawdor, Macbeth immediately trusted those supernatural matters. He turned his murder plan into action again and again due to the fantasy of future dignity.
