The fact that King Lear was willing to loose everything in his possession in order to satisfy his daughters distinguishes his type of character. Usually when we see someone with a great amount of power, they are often blinded and overwhelmed by it that they become greedy and ambitious. Yet, with King Lear, we can observe a very different circumstance. King Lear's feet are set firmly on the ground and he didn't let that hunger for more power and money distort his humanity. Instead he was very generous and considerate to his daughters by handing them all of his kingdom. This type of generosity goes way above anything that Iv'e ever seen before. King Lear was in the streets with no help what so ever from the people he had sacrificed everything for. King Lear then realized that everything he had worked for in his life didn't matter to his daughters because when he most needed them, they turned their backs towards him. His daughters showed nothing but betrayal and no compassion to him. At this point in the play, I can analyze King Lear and say that the betrayal of his daughters has not affected him due to the fact that he now doesn't have the luxuries he once did, but it affected him emotionally.
