Anne Frank to help teach about the Holocaust next year. In my opinion, “Anne Frank: Diary of a Young Girl” is very impressive and unique book because “Anne Frank: Diary of a Young Girl” is a real diary of a teenager girl. The diary begins after Anne's 13th birthday and she and her family are forced to hiding in the secret annex.…
Conflict has happened throughout history and even every day. For example, in the Anne frank diary of a young girl, Anne Frank uses a positive attitude even when there was a manhunt for her. For example Anne frank states,”Thanks to father-who brought my entire postcard and movie star collection here beforehand-and to a brush and a pot of hot glue, I was able to plaster the wall with pictures. Anne frank takes her natural happiness and turns the entire subject into an optimistic view. Another coincidence of conflict during WWII happens to a young girl in the story Hitler Youth, where she used a strategy known as avoidance. For example the young girl(Sophie) choose to not take part in the horrific Nazi’s views. Rather she sat in silence and believed to what she thought was right. Both Anne frank and Sophie use skillful techniques to oppose indirect aggression.…
Anne Frank's internal conflict stems mainly from the adolescent turmoil that most teenagers experience. She wanted very much to be a normal, goofy teenager. At some points, Anne stated that she felt like two different people. One was the fun, noisy, annoying Anne, and the other was deep, quiet, serious, and afraid to let it show because of her fear of being laughed at by others. Anne also shared her struggles with a lack of self-confidence. She dreamed of being a journalist or writer, but she questioned how she could accomplish such a dream due to her shyness and insecurities. Anne often wrote about how she felt grown up one minute and like a child the next. She experienced tumultuous feelings about sex and relationships with boys. In particular,…
What is conflict? Why is it good to have a positive attitude during conflict? Why, for so long have humans cruelly mistreated each other if “they are all equal?” Conflict is a fight, battle, or struggle, especially a prolonged struggle (dictionary.com). Anne Frank gives an insight on what life was it was like to not know if you would live for the next day. In Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl, Anne is living through the turmoil of all the jewish people as her and her family hid from the Nazi’s. Although the situation she is in is horrifying she manages to stay positive minded. Another story, Dear Miss Breed, a story where all Japanese people in the United States, citizens or not, were placed in internment camps because of the air attack on Pearl Harbor. Miss Breed, a children’s librarian at the San Diego Public Library, gave kids that were put in these camps hope by donating books to them and also by writing letters back and forth to them trying to give them some positivity even in their time of crisis. Both of these stories show that having a positive attitude is the best response to conflict, especially in time of war.…
The Diary of A Young Girl, written over a two-year period, tells about the life of a young girl named Anne Frank who is also the author, while she and her family are in hiding in Holland. They are staying in a secret attic of the office building where Mr. Frank used to work in order to escape from the Nazis during World War II. During their stay in the annex, they are supported by several people in the office building, who risk their own lives to insure the secrecy of the Jewish hideout and to provide them with food and basic supplies. Throughout the time Anne spends hiding in the annex she develops maturity and gains respect from the people around her. I would say that the theme of this book is adolescence. I think the theme of this book is adolescence because Anne writes in her diary about how she has become more of a women since moving into the annex. She also develops adolescence by being able to see what she did not see in a person before. For example she is asked by Mrs. Van Daan if she could ever picture Peter as a brother, instantly she reacts with disgust like a child. Later on in the book though she begins to develop feelings for Peter, stronger than a brother. She begins to confide in him, and ask him questions about sex. She also writes her father a letter describing her feelings for Peter. Throughout the 2 years Anne spends hiding in the Annex her child self, develops into a mature being, but not yet an adult making the theme of this story adolescence.…

As a teenage girl, Anne loves to indulge in childish pleasures such as running around and having fun, or embarking on great journeys through her imagination. After Miep Gies, the Frank's trusted and loyal friend, told Anne that she was going to a party later that night, Anne's childish happiness had gotten the best of her, and she exploded into a storm of questions. "How heavenly!" she had said. "Remember exactly what everyone was wearing, and what you eat, and everything so you can tell us tomorrow!" In this quote alone an inside glimpse of Anne's young personality was exposed to the audience to see how she reacts in particular situations. However, this also goes to show the liveliness that in often cases, Anne keeps pent up inside. Her perspective of situations varies so greatly from average adults that her spontaneity to certain remarks is not only refreshing, but allows her to see the better in situations and people, just as she had stated in her quote. Moreover, Anne has been encased in a loving, protective shell built by her family. She had not been exposed to the harshness of others and still is often treated as a child. Due to this, Anne has not openly seen the world as a whole picture, but only as a small fraction. Under these conditions, even after having to be locked away for…
