In the Bible, there are many examples of uncontrolled wrath. One example is Cain. After Abel’s offering was accepted by God instead of his, Cain was deeply tempted by wrath and ended up killing his own brother. The sin of eating a prohibited fruit became a fruit of murder.

Even though it was his mistake to sell his birthright to Jacob for one morsel of food, Esau had a burning hatred of brother for stealing his birthright of blessing.

He even said that “It is better for me to die than to live” (Jonah 4:8) Clearly, he did not have a heart for people of Nineveh but have adorment for his plants. When God took them away, he was exceedingly unhappy and bursted his anger towards his situation and God. When Lord asked Jonah if it was right for him to say such thing, he still insisted that he had a right heart. To answer him, God drew a comparison between people of Nineveh and Jonah’s plants.
